BASSETERRE: The St. Christopher Air And Sea Ports Authority turned sod today for a new cruise ship terminal at Port Zante.
Construction is expected to begin shortly, with the terminal scheduled for completion in 2027.
Minister of Tourism, Marsha Henderson, said the project will play a major role in the future development of St. Kitts And Nevis’ tourism industry.
Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew commended Minister Henderson and her team for bringing the project to this stage.
He said strong partnerships have been central to making the development possible.
The Prime Minister also described the new terminal as an important part of his government’s strategy to diversify the economy.
